Bylaws

As nonprofit organizations, AWWA and AWWA Sections are required to create and maintain bylaws. Bylaws are a legal document that give an organization’s board authority, define the limits and scope of work for the organization, and document key governance concepts.

In order to help Sections create bylaws that are effective, efficient, and comply with state/federal requirements and AWWA guidelines, we have created a Standard Bylaws Template and an Updating Section Bylaws How-To Guide. As your Section works with your Section Relationship Manager to update bylaws, these documents will be your go-to source of information.
